Indonesiantalk.com — In line with the exploration of investment opportunities in the electric motor assembly industry in Indonesia, a significant meeting took place between key players from China’s electric motor sector, Sunra, and the Ministry of Industry.
The meeting was held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the Ministry of Industry’s headquarters.
Present at the meeting were Mr. Yan Sibarang Tandiele, Secretary of the Directorate General for Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics, along with Ms. Patia Jungjungan.
Sunra’s delegation was represented by Mr. Wang Chenyang, Mr. Xu Yong, and Mr. Tao Xiaochen, accompanied by local partners from PT Inovasi Investama Nusantara, Mr. Ismeth Wibowo, and Mr. Wu Lei.
The meeting aimed to discuss potential collaboration and investment prospects for establishing an electric motor assembly plant in Indonesia.
Additionally, subsequent meetings were conducted with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, attended by Mr. Agus Tjahajana Wirakusumah, Special Staff to the Minister for Industrial Sector Development in the Energy and Mineral Resources Sector (ESDM).
Another meeting was held with the Investment Coordinating Board of Indonesia (BKPM), which was attended by Ms. Tina Talisa, Special Staff to the Minister for Regional Relations, and Mr. Wahyu Adhi Prasetyo.
During these meetings, various aspects of the investment proposal were deliberated, including technology transfer, market potential, local partnerships, and regulatory frameworks.
The Indonesian government expressed its commitment to providing a conducive environment for foreign investments and underlined the significance of sustainable and environmentally friendly industrial initiatives.
The delegation from Sunra conveyed their keen interest in the Indonesian market and acknowledged the country’s potential as a regional hub for electric motor assembly and distribution.
Both parties expressed optimism about the prospects of this collaboration, which is anticipated to bolster Indonesia’s position in the burgeoning electric vehicle industry.
The Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and the Investment Coordinating Board of Indonesia (BKPM) have assured their full support and cooperation to facilitate the realization of this investment venture.
