Indonesiantalk.com –– South Kalimantan Police Personnel Carry Out Presidential Instruction Through Environmental Clean-Up
That morning, the courtyard of the South Kalimantan Regional Police Headquarters looked different. Under the rising sun, the synchronized footsteps of hundreds of police personnel blended with the sound of brooms sweeping across the asphalt.
On Thursday (February 5, 2026), their official uniforms were paired with cleaning tools—brooms, hoes, and shovels—forming a simple yet meaningful symbol of collective care.
Along Jalan Dharma Praja Timur, Cempaka Sub-district, Banjarbaru, personnel of Polda Kalimantan Selatan cleaned office yards, drainage channels, and corners of the police headquarters complex. Rank distinctions faded into the background.
Everyone worked side by side, sweeping and carrying waste together to create a cleaner and more comfortable working environment.
This environmental clean-up was more than a routine activity. It represented a concrete follow-up to the directive of President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, who has emphasized the importance of environmental cleanliness as an integral part of discipline and shared responsibility.
Speaking to the media, South Kalimantan Police Head of Public Relations Adam Erwindi explained that the activity carried a message beyond physical cleanliness.
“This clean-up activity reflects Polda Kalsel’s commitment to implementing the President’s instruction on environmental hygiene. Beyond creating a clean and healthy workplace, it also fosters a culture of discipline and strengthens the spirit of mutual cooperation within the police force,” he said.
For many personnel, the activity also served as a moment of reflection. Maintaining security and public order is not always carried out through patrols or law enforcement actions alone, but also through simple, everyday deeds that set a direct example for the community.
The brooms moved that morning did more than clear dust and debris. They reinforced the message that the police are an integral part of society—present not only to protect and enforce the law, but also to care for their surroundings and lead by example.
Through this environmental clean-up initiative, the South Kalimantan Regional Police hope that the spirit of care and mutual cooperation will continue to grow, not only within the police institution but also throughout the wider community.
