Reflecting on the Departure of Syarifah Salma binti Hasyim bin Yahya: A Legacy of Kindness
Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. In deep sorrow, we reflect on the departure of a beloved figure, who has left behind a legacy of kindness in the hearts of many.
Today, we mourn the passing of Almarhumah, a truly exceptional individual known for her compassion and generosity towards all who entered her home.
Throughout her life, Almarhumah tirelessly extended her care to every person who stepped through her door, whether in Pekalongan or Jakarta.
As a student of Habib Luthfi Bin Yahya, I was fortunate to experience Almarhumah’s warmth and kindness firsthand.
Each encounter with Almarhumah was greeted with a warm smile, displaying genuine concern by asking about our well-being, whether we had eaten, and other small gestures that made every meeting special.
My last memory with Almarhumah was on May 4th in Pekalongan, during her granddaughter’s wedding. The joyous atmosphere of the wedding felt even more complete with Almarhumah’s presence, as she encouraged with her smile and offered heartfelt prayers for her granddaughter’s future.
Almarhumah was not only someone who cared for her family and relatives but also for anyone in need. Her kindness extended throughout her community, fostering strong bonds of kinship among those fortunate enough to know her.
Her presence has left an indelible mark of goodness in the hearts of all who had the privilege of interacting with her.
We pray that Almarhumah is granted a noble place by Allah SWT and that her family and we are given strength to face this loss.
In our grief, let us continue to cherish the kindness, love, and care that Almarhumah bestowed upon us all.
May the memories of Almarhumah’s goodness serve as a source of strength for us all to continue to do good to others, as she taught us throughout her life.
