Head of Indonesian National Narcotics Agency Meets with Greek Ambassador to Foster Synergy in Anti-Drug Efforts
During his official visit to Europe, the Head of the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency (BNN RI), Police Commissioner Prof. Dr. Petrus Reinhard Golose, journeyed to Greece to hold a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Greece, H.E. Bebeb Abdul Kurnia Nugraha Djundjunan, on Friday (25/8).
The arrival of the Head of BNN RI, accompanied by the Member of the Expert Group of BNN RI in the field of International Cooperation, Ambassador Harry James Kandou, the Director of the BNN PLRKM (Cooperation and International Relations) Directorate, Dr. Amrita Devi, SpKJ,M., the Director of Intelligence of BNN, Police Brigadier General Ruddi Setiawan, S.H., S.I.K., M.H., and the delegation from BNN RI was warmly received by the Indonesian Ambassador to Greece.
The Indonesian Ambassador to Greece commended the efforts of the Head of BNN RI in establishing cooperation with the Greek government in the field of Prevention and Eradication of Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking (P4GN).
Greece’s geographical location at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa, with its extensive coastline, positions the country strategically as a transit area and destination for drug trafficking, including criminal activities conducted by Organized Crime Groups (OCGs).
During the meeting, the Head of BNN RI shared his experiences in Indonesia’s efforts towards P4GN. He emphasized that a comprehensive approach is crucial for addressing drug-related issues, spanning from the root causes to downstream activities.
The Indonesian Ambassador to Greece welcomed the prospect of collaboration with BNN RI as a globally respected anti-drug agency.
