Enforcing the Orders of the Indonesian National Police Chief for Presisi

Kapusdik Lantas Polri Police Brigadier General Djoni Hendra stated that Pusdik Lantas Polri has adjusted its curriculum to the concept of predictability, accountability, transparency, and fairness (Presisi) since two years ago, in line with the spirit of cultural change initiated by the Indonesian National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

“The curriculum we provide to the students is up-to-date. We have prepared it a year ago, and we will translate it flexibly into several subjects that will be taught. This way, the students can understand quickly, with the support of various props,” said Djoni.

Firstly, Pusdik Lantas focuses on providing quality traffic education that produces competent graduates.

The leadership of the Indonesian National Police has instructed Pusdik Lantas to initiate behavioral changes among field officers across Indonesia. Pusdik Lantas, as an educational institution, is tasked with producing qualified traffic police officers.

“We want to change the mindset of our officers. We no longer want viral incidents like in the past. We begin this mindset change with education at Pusdik Lantas,” he said.

Djoni mentioned that he and other officials from Pusdik Lantas Polri regularly visit classrooms to interact with students. During these visits, he emphasizes the need for a positive change in the way traffic police officers think.

“I no longer give instructions; I command you to become agents of change. As change agents in your respective areas for those who are not here at Pusdik Lantas,” Djoni explained.

“What is their role? Their role is to change behavior, to change their conduct, so that the expectations of the Indonesian National Police Chief are not repeated, and we don’t repeat the viral incidents that are happening everywhere,” Djoni concluded.

Police Brigadier General Djoni Hendra emphasized that the most important aspect of police education is to change the way of thinking. Djoni stated that traffic police officers should no longer appear intimidating or be perceived as complicating matters for drivers.

His hope is that this education can dispel old stigmas associated with the lack of knowledge or indifference of the public regarding traffic matters. By having police officers who adopt better approaches, such as providing understanding and educating the public on a broader scale, the perception of the police can be improved.

“The education at the Traffic Education Center is in line with the Presisi concept introduced by the Indonesian National Police Chief. It is about providing quality traffic education. This education is not only for non-commissioned officers but also for officers ranging from the first level to middle-ranking officers with the rank of Assistant Commissioner,” he stated.

This year’s celebration of Bhayangkara Day carries the theme “Polri Presisi Untuk Negeri Pemilu Damai Menuju Indonesia Maju” (Precise Indonesian National Police for a Peaceful Election towards an Advanced Indonesia).

Through education at Pusdik Lantas Serpong, the aim is for police officers to become good examples and perform their duties with precision, possessing superior competence in maintaining traffic order and security in Indonesia.

Every traffic officer who has received education at Pusdik Lantas is expected to become an agent of change for their colleagues who have not yet undergone such education. They are expected to realize the importance of this for themselves and for the benefit of the community as a whole.
