Indonesiantalk.com — National Scout Council (Kwarnas) Declares Case at Cibubur Gas Station Resolved Amicably, Prepares Legal Steps If Necessary

The National Scout Council (Kwarnas) has confirmed that the alleged fraud case at the Pertamina Buperta Cibubur gas station has been resolved amicably between both parties. However, they are prepared to take legal action if required.

In a circulated release detailing the actual situation, Kwarnas Pramuka emphasized the importance of conducting business honestly in accordance with regulations and prioritizing customer interests.

“We welcome the resolution of the issue through amicable means, as evidenced by a joint clarification statement signed by both parties,” said Benny Butarbutar, Deputy Head of Data and Information Center (Pusdatin) of Kwarnas Pramuka in Jakarta on Thursday (June 27, 2024).

Benny stated that Kwarnas Pramuka promptly summoned and obtained statements from the gas station management as soon as the alleged fraud case gained traction on social media and online news platforms.

“We meticulously studied the reported chronology of events, including reviewing CCTV footage,” Benny added.

PT. Molino Pramuka, the entity managing business assets and other activities of Kwarnas Gerakan Pramuka, oversees the land where the Cibubur gas station is located.

However, Kwarnas Pramuka also stressed that corrective actions must be implemented by the gas station management to prevent any recurrence of incidents that could tarnish the reputation of Kwarnas Pramuka.

“Investigations and audits are ongoing, and we are not ruling out the possibility of imposing strict sanctions, from administrative penalties to dismissal, if serious administrative discrepancies and operational procedure violations are found,” he said.

Benny further disclosed that legal recourse was initially considered based on findings and event chronology. Nevertheless, both parties opted for amicable negotiations, which led to a peaceful resolution. This consensus was seen as the best approach to settling the matter.

Meanwhile, Rio Ashadi, Director of Operations at PT. Molino, recounted the incident that occurred on Sunday night, June 23, 2024, at the Cibubur gas station in East Jakarta, which had gained attention on social media and online news.

“There was a misunderstanding in communication that escalated into a dispute between the gas station attendant and the customer,” Rio explained.

“Fortunately, everything was resolved amicably through consensus and constructive communication,” he added.

Rio also emphasized their commitment to improving service to prevent future misunderstandings and serve as a guideline for handling conflicts or legal issues, while maintaining a customer-first approach.

Ultimately, the gas station and consumer Ririn engaged in improved communication and agreed to issue a joint statement declaring the case resolved, serving as a learning experience for both parties.

The joint statement, signifying the resolution of the case, was signed on Wednesday (June 26, 2024) at 21:14 WIB by both consumer Ririn and gas station representative Operational Manager Lutfi.
