Indonesiantalk.com — IPDN and Ministry of Home Affairs Monitor Public Order and Community Protection in South Sumatra

The Institute of Public Administration (IPDN), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, took part in monitoring the implementation of Public Order and Community Protection (Trantibumlinmas) in South Sumatra Province from September 12 to 13, 2025.

Representing the IPDN Rector, the Deputy Rector for General Administration, Dr. Arief M. Edie, M.Si, carried out the monitoring in line with directives from the Minister of Home Affairs.

As previously emphasized by the Minister of Home Affairs, 11 key directives have been issued to maintain public security, including revitalizing neighborhood security patrols (Siskamling) at the RT/RW level.

“In accordance with the Minister’s directives, we visited RT 34 RW 05 in Sukodadi Subdistrict and RT 04 RW 02 in Talang Semut Subdistrict, Palembang City, to monitor Trantibumlinmas. We also conducted outreach and discussions with local residents,” said Arief.

Arief highlighted that Siskamling in both Sukodadi and Talang Semut is already functioning well, with adequate facilities and infrastructure in place. “The community here hopes the government will provide greater support for this ongoing program,” he added.

Beyond supervising Siskamling, Arief also encouraged residents to take an active role in safeguarding their neighborhoods.

“In addition to reactivating Siskamling, we suggest the community optimize the use of Posyandu (integrated health service posts), support MSMEs for household needs, and participate actively in resident data collection—such as identifying pregnant women, the sick, and those living in boarding houses or rented housing. Another important step is installing CCTV in strategic locations,” he explained.

Arief’s visit to Palembang was not limited to field monitoring. He also attended the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum Meeting, which brought together the Head of the South Sumatra National and Political Unity Agency (Kesbangpol), the Head of the Provincial Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), and other regional leaders.

The forum reaffirmed the Minister’s 11 directives in addressing evolving public security dynamics.

“In essence, the Minister has instructed the reactivation of Siskamling, the revitalization of family welfare programs (TP PKK), and other regional government initiatives aimed at fostering a conducive security situation, such as social assistance, affordable market movements, and more,” Arief concluded.

  • Three Suspected Freeport Pipeline Saboteurs Arrested, Amole Task Force Confirms They Are Not Gold Panners

Three Suspected Freeport Pipeline Saboteurs Arrested, Amole Task Force Confirms They Are Not Gold Panners

Indonesiantalk.com — Three Suspected Freeport Pipeline Saboteurs Arrested, Amole Task Force Confirms They Are Not Gold Panners

Amole Task Force I 2025, in coordination with PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) management, has officially denied recent media reports alleging that gold panners were shot in the Mile Point 60 area.

The clarification comes following a law enforcement operation addressing repeated sabotage of Freeport’s concentrate pipelines, which have been damaged 14 times over a two-week period.

The latest incident occurred on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at approximately 08:00 WIT, near Mile Post 59.8. A joint patrol team from the Amole Task Force I and PTFI management encountered a camp occupied by six individuals suspected of being involved in the vandalism of the company’s critical infrastructure.

“Based on a report from PTFI’s SRM division, there have been 14 incidents of pipeline cutting, affecting both active and inactive concentrate and diesel pipes between MP 44 and MP 64, from June 21 to July 4, 2025,” said Kombes Pol Irwan Yuli Prasetyo, S.I.K., M.M., Head of Operations for Amole Task Force I 2025.

“This is a serious violation that harms the state and threatens the operations of Freeport, which is classified as a National Vital Object,” he added.

    Persuasive Effort Turned Pursuit

According to Irwan, the team initially attempted a persuasive approach to the six individuals at the scene. However, the suspects attempted to flee.

“We were forced to take measured action using rubber ammunition. Three suspects were successfully apprehended, while the other three fled into the forest,” he stated.

Three Suspects in Custody, Legal Process Underway

The three individuals arrested have been identified by their initials: RR (27), LS (59), and LA (31).

Two of them, RR and LS, are currently receiving medical treatment at Mimika Regional Hospital and are now allowed family visits. The third suspect, LA, is undergoing further investigation at the Mimika Police Department.

Authorities also confiscated several pieces of evidence from the scene, including:

-A plastic bag containing processed concentrate

    -A machete, metal saw, flashlight

    -Motorola HT (radio), power bank

    -Backpack and gloves

    Large-Scale Criminal Operation

Irwan emphasized that this act of pipeline sabotage is not merely theft, but a crime against national infrastructure.

“We secured the evidence, brought the suspects to the hospital, and are now coordinating with Mimika Police for further legal proceedings. This is a criminal syndicate disrupting company operations and committing a serious offense,” he asserted.

Amole Task Force I also stressed that no excessive force was used during the operation. All actions taken were in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Commitment to Protect National Vital Assets

Kombes Irwan concluded by reaffirming the task force’s commitment to safeguarding state assets within Freeport’s operational areas.

“This operation was not against gold panners but against individuals committing criminal acts of vandalism against state assets. We will continue to collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure the security of Freeport’s operations and uphold the law,” he concluded.

  • Chief Justice Yulius Urges Administrative Court Judges to Uphold Humanity in Their Rulings

Chief Justice Yulius Urges Administrative Court Judges to Uphold Humanity in Their Rulings

Indonesiantalk.com — Chief Justice Yulius Urges Administrative Court Judges to Uphold Humanity in Their Rulings

Denpasar, Indonesia – The Chief Justice for Administrative Affairs (TUN) at the Supreme Court of Indonesia, His Excellency Prof. Dr. H. Yulius, S.H., M.H., has called on all Administrative Court (TUN) judges across the country to consistently uphold humanity in the exercise of their judicial duties.

The statement was delivered during a nationwide virtual briefing for Administrative Courts and High Administrative Courts, following the inauguration of the Mushola Al-Hakim at the Denpasar Administrative Court.

According to Justice Yulius, the role of TUN judges will become increasingly demanding in the future, given that the cases they handle often involve citizens who feel aggrieved by the state through its government.

“You are adjudicating cases brought by citizens who feel wronged by the state through government actions. You must exercise great care in safeguarding the rights of individuals, while also maintaining the balance of living together as a society. This is what I mean by adjudicating cases with a constitutional mindset,” he emphasized.

The Three Purposes of Law and the Challenge of Justice

Justice Yulius reminded the judiciary that the true purpose of legal rulings encompasses three principles: justice, legal certainty, and benefit. Yet, he acknowledged the inherent difficulty in fulfilling all three simultaneously.

“If you can deliver a decision that embodies all three, that is remarkable. But instinctively, it is almost impossible. The definition of justice itself has been debated for thousands of years without consensus, because justice is not only logical and scientific, but also deeply rooted in human sentiment,” he explained.

While he expressed confidence in the judges’ academic and legal expertise, Justice Yulius stressed the need to nurture empathy and sensitivity to the realities of human life underlying each case.

    Judges Are Not “Paper Creatures”

In a pointed remark, Justice Yulius underscored that judges must never become mere “paper creatures” bound solely to formal rules.

“Never forget that those we judge are human beings, not just documents. Behind each case lies a reality of life—families in tears, houses demolished, employees dismissed leaving children hungry, or officials stripped of their positions, causing humiliation and hardship for their families,” he said.

For Justice Yulius, the only way to prevent judges from losing sight of these realities is by continually cultivating their sense of humanity.

    Prioritizing Substance Over Formalities

Justice Yulius further urged TUN judges to prioritize substantive justice over rigid adherence to procedural law.

“There have been many Supreme Court plenary decisions affirming that administrative judges must value substance above formality,” he said.

He cited examples, including a civil landowner who lost property rights due to a late cassation filing. In such cases, Justice Yulius emphasized the importance of setting aside procedural technicalities to restore substantive justice.

Another example he gave involved a female civil servant dismissed after being absent for three months during her third pregnancy.

“Pregnancy is a natural condition for a married woman. It is not right for the state to punish such a natural circumstance,” said Justice Yulius, adding that he ordered her reinstatement.

    Crossing Procedural Boundaries with Wisdom

Nevertheless, Justice Yulius cautioned judges against carelessly disregarding procedural law.

“The imperative to uphold material justice must be stronger and more compelling when a judge decides to set aside formal procedures,” he affirmed.

Ultimately, Justice Yulius hopes administrative judges across Indonesia will embody a more humane form of justice—anchored not merely in rigid rules, but in conscience and empathy.

“Do not become paper creatures bound only by formality. Nurture humanity in every ruling,” he concluded.

  • For the First Time, President Prabowo Leads the 80th Independence Day Proclamation Ceremony

For the First Time, President Prabowo Leads the 80th Independence Day Proclamation Ceremony

IndonesianTalk.com — Eighty years of the Republic of Indonesia were celebrated with reverence and festivity in the heart of the capital. From the grounds of the Merdeka Palace to the length of Jakarta’s Thamrin–Sudirman boulevard, citizens joined together in a grand national celebration.

Behind the color and music of the carnival, history and family ties quietly walked alongside the nation on this momentous day.

For the first time, President Prabowo Subianto personally led both of the sacred state ceremonies: the morning flag raising of the Red and White and the evening flag lowering.

Under Jakarta’s clear skies, the national flag ascended slowly into the air, while thousands of eyes followed in solemn silence.

Among the invited guests sat the extended Margono Djojohadikusumo family, the lineage of President Prabowo. Margono, the founding father of Bank Negara Indonesia, was the first Chairman of the Supreme Advisory Council (DPA) and a member of BPUPKI (the Investigating Committee for Preparatory Work for Independence), known in Japanese as Dokuritsu Junbi Cosakai when it was formed on March 1, 1945. The body’s main task was to investigate and prepare the groundwork for Indonesia’s independence.

A Family Legacy at the Heart of the Republic

This year’s Independence Day was unique: two state ceremonies were held, both morning and afternoon, led by President Prabowo. In the rows of honored guests, the presence of the Djojohadikusumo family was deeply symbolic—a living reminder of the bloodline that helped shape the republic.

The spotlight shone brightest on Sukartini Silitonga-Djojohadikusumo, affectionately known as Tante Tien, now 106 years old.
“I wish my nephew every success as the eighth President of Indonesia,” she said warmly. As the second-generation descendant of Margono still alive today, her words carried the weight of history. At her side sat her son, Mora

Dharma Silitonga, cousin to the President.

Longtime friends of Mora—Ismeth Wibowo and Onny Satrio—joined the moment with a prayer:
“May the family of Mr. Margono Djojohadikusumo always remain under God’s protection.”

During the evening ceremony, Tante Tien was seated in a place of honor behind the President’s podium. She even shook hands directly with President Prabowo, a deeply moving moment that left a lasting impression on those present.

    A Nation’s Festivities

Beyond the palace gates, the spirit of independence spilled into the city’s main avenues. A Red and White parade stretched from the National Monument to the Merdeka Palace, accompanied by cavalry units and a procession of traditional costumes from Sabang to Merauke, representing Indonesia’s vast diversity.

The skies above Jakarta became a stage of pride as the Indonesian Air Force performed breathtaking aerobatic displays. On the ground, traditional dances, pencak silat martial arts, and the famous pacu jalur boat race from Riau’s Kuansing region electrified the crowd.

After the ceremonies, President Prabowo stepped down from the podium to mingle with the people. As the folk song “Tabola Bale” played, even the police and military officers on duty joined the joyful dance. The President himself briefly danced with the crowd before being gently guided back by his security detail.

History, Family, and the Spirit of the People

That day, history and family intertwined on one stage. From the century-old matriarch to the new generation now leading the nation, the legacy of Margono Djojohadikusumo lived on at the heart of the republic.

Indonesia’s 80th Independence Anniversary was more than a commemoration of age—it was a reminder that the nation stands upon the foundations of history, the strength of family, and the unyielding spirit of its people.

The ceremony took place at the stroke of midnight, marking the early hours of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day celebrations.

President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka joined the pilgrimage, accompanied by Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf and Commander of Jakarta Garrison, Brigadier General Edi Saputra.

Upon arrival, President Prabowo was welcomed at the main gate before proceeding to the Heroes’ Monument where the ceremony began.

In a solemn atmosphere, the Head of State laid a wreath as a tribute to the fallen heroes of the nation. This was followed by a moment of silence led directly by President Prabowo.

“My fellow countrymen, let us bow our heads and remember the souls and sacrifices of our heroes. They gave their lives for Indonesia’s independence, sovereignty, and dignity. Let us observe a moment of silence,” said the President.

The crowd stood in deep reflection, offering prayers for the heroes who had safeguarded the nation’s freedom and integrity. The ceremony concluded with a salute to the fallen, accompanied by the sounding of the “Last Post.”

After the formal proceedings, President Prabowo greeted attendees, including the fam  ilies of the national heroes and members of the Merah Putih Cabinet, before leaving the cemetery grounds.

Indonesiantalk.com — BI Holds FERBI 2025: Perry Warjiyo Calls on Indonesians to Take Pride in the Rupiah

In celebration of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence, Bank Indonesia (BI) is making waves once again with the 2025 Festival Rupiah Berdaulat Indonesia (FERBI). The spirited event serves as both an educational platform and a national call to action: “Protect the Rupiah, Protect Our Sovereignty!”

Opening the event virtually, BI Governor Perry Warjiyo delivered a stirring message that resonated deeply:

“The Rupiah is the fruit of independence fought for by our heroes. Do not allow its value to be tarnished.”

With the theme “Strong Synergy to Safeguard a Sovereign Rupiah”, Perry outlined three reasons why every Indonesian must love, respect, and understand their currency:

A Symbol of National Sovereignty that must be protected and honored.

The Identity of the Republic of Indonesia, marked by the Garuda Pancasila and the phrase “Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia” printed on every note.

A Window to Indonesia, showcasing the nation’s history, culture, and natural wealth through its designs.

Perry also reminded the public that caring for banknotes, avoiding counterfeit currency, and using the Rupiah in all transactions are all part of keeping Indonesia sovereign.

FERBI 2025 is not merely ceremonial—it’s a tangible movement to ignite the nationwide spirit of Love, Pride, and Understanding of the Rupiah.

Independence Celebrations with a Special Touch

This year’s Independence Day festivities have been made even more special. “It’s an inspiring event,” said Ismeth Wibowo Amirullah, a young automotive figure from Sunra Motor Indonesia and grandson of National Hero Ir. Djuanda Kartawidjaja.

IndonesianTalk.com — Akpol 68-Dharma Gathering Breaks Record, Becomes a Stage for Camaraderie and Nostalgia Among Retired Generals

A warm, laughter-filled atmosphere rich with memories marked the Silaturahmi (reunion) of the Akpol 68-Dharma Alumni Association, held at the Balai Tetap Setia PP Polri, Jalan Siaga, South Jakarta.

Hundreds of retired senior and mid-ranking police officers, accompanied by their spouses, came together to reminisce, greet one another, and rekindle the bonds they have shared for over half a century.

Komjen Pol (Ret.) Drs. Ahwil Loetan, S.H., MBA, Chairman of the Akpol I Class of 68-Dharma Alumni Association, emphasized that the event was more than just a reunion—it was a way to strengthen the deep connections among members.

“At an age where many of us are no longer young, we have become even more united, even warmer in building our togetherness,” he said.

Notable figures in attendance included Irjen Pol (Ret.) Drs. Marwan Paris, MBA, along with several other retired generals. The event also drew senior journalists such as Indonews.id Editor-in-Chief Asri Hadi, EDITOR.ID Editor-in-Chief Edi Winarto, and Matra Magazine Editor-in-Chief and SS Executive Budi Rahardjo.

Festivities Filled with Culture and Anti-Drug Messages

The gathering was enlivened by performances of angklung, line dancing, ballroom dancing, as well as magic shows, traditional dances, and the daring art of debus.

One of the standout moments came from Brigjen Pol Dr. Victor Pudjiadi, SpB, FICS, DFM—a senior officer from the National Narcotics Board (BNN)—who captivated the audience with his magic tricks while seamlessly delivering anti-drug messages with humor and charisma.

In a show of unity, all participants wore white tops and black bottoms, a dress code extended to guests as well, creating a sense of harmony that brightened the entire occasion.

    Breaking an ORI Record

This year’s reunion officially broke the Original Rekor Indonesia (ORI) record for the largest gathering of guests aged over 70. A total of 128 elderly participants were recorded—a remarkable achievement.

The ORI certificate was presented directly to Komjen Pol (Ret.) Ahwil Loetan on behalf of all members.

“Even though our numbers have dwindled from 298 to just 78, our spirit and camaraderie have never faded,” Ahwil declared passionately.

    A Legacy of Togetherness

The Akpol 68-Dharma Alumni Association continues to regularly host social events, friendly gatherings, and similar reunions.

This gathering was not only a celebration of history but also living proof that true friendship stands the test of time—and can even break records.
