The National Unity in Diversity Dialogue: Love for the Rupiah, Love for the NKRI, held on Friday, August 18, 2023, from 08:30 to 11:00 AM WIB, marked a historic moment.

This event, which took place at Istora Senayan within the Gelora Bung Karno Complex in Jakarta, involved various elements of society.

The event’s noble objective was to strengthen unity and diversity through the spirit of love for the Indonesian Rupiah and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

The Opening Ceremony was inaugurated by a prominent figure, Perry Warjiyo, the Governor of Bank Indonesia. Also in attendance were Deputy Governor of Indonesia, Doni P Joewono, and the Head of the Money Management Department of BI, Marlison Hakim.

In his opening remarks, Perry Warjiyo shared his perspective on the Rupiah as Indonesia’s window and the significance of the national currency in reinforcing nationalistic spirit.

Subsequently, esteemed public figures participated as panelists in a discussion. Among them was Prof. D Meutia Hatta, the daughter of Proclamation Proclaimer Bung Hatta and also the first Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia. She is a former Minister of Women’s Empowerment and a member of Wantimpres.

Also present were members of the National Family, Prof. Dr. Abdul Mu’ti, an Intellectual and Islamic Figure, and Indra Sjafri, the Coach of the Indonesian National Football Team.

Notably, Hanung Bramantyo, a renowned Director, was present. The event also saw the attendance of families of heroes whose figures have become icons on the Rupiah banknotes. The Rupiah consistently pays tribute to these heroes in each paper and metal banknote series.

Ismeth Wibowo and Noorwati Djuanda were also present, representing the family of hero Ir. H Djuanda Kartawidjaja in the Rp 50,000 Rupiah denomination released in 2022.

Additionally, the Deputy Rector 4 of Pancasila University, Ambassador Diennaryati Tjokrosuprihartono, who is the grandchild of National Hero M.H Thamrin, attended. The event was moderated by Bunga Harum Dani.

Beyond the series of discussions that centered around nationalism and pride in the Rupiah, the event was further enriched by the heartwarming performance by the CBP Rupiah choir.
