Nickel processing company PT Gunbuster Nickel Industry (GNI) has received recognition from the Central Sulawesi Revenue Agency (Bapenda) for its investment contribution and support for regional economic development in the province.
The appreciation was given in acknowledgment of the company’s role in supporting the provincial government’s “Berani Berinvestasi” (Dare to Invest) program as well as its contribution to increasing locally generated revenue (PAD), while helping foster a safe, conducive and sustainable investment climate in Central Sulawesi.
The award also reflects PT GNI’s active role in stimulating economic activity, creating employment opportunities and contributing to regional income.
In recent years, the company’s investment in North Morowali regency has been seen as having a significant impact on local development. The industrial estate managed by the company has helped accelerate the growth of the nickel processing industry while strengthening the local economic ecosystem through increased business activity, trade and supporting infrastructure development.
Central Sulawesi Bapenda head Andi Irman said that investment in mineral processing industries such as that carried out by PT GNI plays an important role in strengthening the region’s economic base.
According to him, such investment has contributed to increasing regional revenue while creating new economic opportunities for communities in surrounding areas.
“Investment entering Central Sulawesi, including that carried out by PT GNI, has had a positive impact on regional economic development. In addition to encouraging industrial growth, this investment also contributes to higher regional revenue and broader economic activity among local communities,” Andi said.
He also praised the company’s commitment to fulfilling its regional tax obligations, noting that PT GNI has been known to be compliant and cooperative in coordinating with local authorities.
