Indonesiantalk.com — Arran Single Malt Introduces the Magic of Scotch Whisky to Indonesia
Arran Single Malt, the embodiment of the beauty and uniqueness of Scotch whisky from its homeland, Scotland, has arrived in Indonesia, bringing with it the enchanting flavors and aromas that define this distinguished spirit.
The Grand Launching event held at IZZY Social Club in South Jakarta on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, marked a significant step in introducing the presence of Arran Single Malt to the Indonesian community.
Edhi Sumadi, Chief Principal Representative of Arran Single Malt in Indonesia, along with Rob Gray, Head of Asia Pacific and brand ambassador for Arran Single Malt, led the event.
In his address, Edhi Sumadi expressed his hope that the presence of Arran Single Malt would provide whisky enthusiasts in Indonesia with a more diverse and high-quality choice.
For those who appreciate whisky, understanding the history and production process of Arran whisky is essential.
Arran has a relatively young history compared to other Scotch whisky brands in Scotland. In 1994, Harold Currie, a World War II veteran, established the Lochranza Distillery on the Isle of Arran, marking the beginning of this brand’s journey.
The Isle of Arran was chosen as the distillery location due to its high-quality water. The clear water flowing through six waterfalls on the island adds perfection to the whisky distillation process.
The warm climate with sea breezes, clean mountain air, and the warm Gulf Stream create an ideal environment for the rapid maturation of whisky.
Arran’s whisky distillation process involves using concert barley and water from Loch na Davie, followed by fermentation with yeast. After double distillation, the whisky is placed in oak casks for the maturation process.
Arran maintains the natural and pure color of their whisky by bottling it without artificial coloring, with an alcohol by volume (ABV) strength of 46% or cask strength.
Arran Single Malt offers four product variants in Indonesia, namely Arran Reserve, Arran 10 years, Arran Quarter Cask, and Arran Sherry Cask. Each variant has its own characteristics and uniqueness, providing a different experience for whisky connoisseurs.
One of Arran’s specialties is their decision not to chill-filter their products. This is done to preserve all the nuances of aroma and flavor that are part of the unique character of Arran whisky.
With the presence of Arran Single Malt in Indonesia, whisky lovers now have the opportunity to experience the captivating richness of Scotch Whisky, exploring the various product variants offered.
It is a celebration for whisky enthusiasts in Indonesia to discover new experiences in appreciating the beauty of the Scotch whisky world.
