Yesterday, the Governor of East Java, Mrs. Hj Khofifah Indar Parawansa, met with representatives from China Harbour in a meeting held at the East Java Liaison Office in Jakarta.
The meeting marked the initial step towards strengthening cooperation between East Java and China Harbour in developing investment potentials in the region.
Attending the meeting were Ismeth Wibowo, Advisor to China Harbour in Indonesia, as well as Mr. Wang, Head of China Harbour’s Representative Office in Indonesia, and Mrs. Norah Yang.
Governor of East Java actively engaged in discussions focusing on investment opportunities in East Java.
One of the main potentials highlighted in this meeting was the development of Probolinggo Sea Port. This port holds a strategic position as the main gateway for maritime trade in East Java.
China Harbour, a state-owned enterprise with expertise in maritime infrastructure development, expressed their interest in investing in the port’s development.
Furthermore, China Harbour also showed interest in participating in the development of the MRT/LRT system in Surabaya.
In this context, they committed to contributing towards enhancing public transportation in Surabaya, one of the largest cities in Indonesia.
During the meeting, China Harbour also discussed other potential investments, including the construction of a convention center in East Java and the utilization of renewable energy.
The construction of the convention center is expected to support the growth of the tourism industry and become a venue for various national and international events.
Additionally, China Harbour is interested in participating in the project of converting waste into electricity through renewable energy in Malang, Jombang, and Sidoarjo.
This aligns with the company’s commitment to supporting the environment and sustainable development.
